Why Is Citronella Bark Collar More Effective Than Dog Shock Collars?

It seems that there are many reasons why citronella dog collar is more effective than the shock collar.

Some believe it is because the citronella  collar doesn’t cause any pain and therefore doesn’t create any stress/fear/anxiety which as per some could be the reason for dogs barking to start with.

Others point out that dogs have very developed sense of smell and therefore find the scent dispensed by the citronella dog collar as highly unpleasant and annoying.

Finally the argument is made that citronella collar affects four out of our dogs five senses.

Our best friend hear the hissing noise the citronella dog collar produces, sees the mist of citronella, feels the spray and feels it.

It needs to be said that there has been a lot of improvements made in both type of bark collars (citronella collar & shock collar) and there are more and more vets and professional dog trainer who now recommend and incorporate dog shock collar into their training.

While citronella collar is considered to be more effective than dog shock collar there might be cases where citronella dog collar may not work very well for each dog and possibly dog shock collar may have better results.
